Plan for a LONG day on the trail and a LONG ride to the trail head. The ride to the exit off I-10 is about an hour and forty minutes, once off at the exit it is about another 25 minutes to the trail head where we will air down promptly and begin heading up to the summit.
The trail itself is not difficult but it does have its challenges in some areas so be prepared for the possibility of a very long day out on the trail.
We will meet at the dirt lot off Exit 81 on I-10W at 8:30 AM so please be prepared to leave on time!

A BLM National Byway which climbs to the top of 5,681-ft. Harquahala Peak, the highest mountain in southwestern Arizona. At the top are 2 small parking areas with picnic tables. A hiking trail with information kiosks goes to an old 1920's observatory. Rating: Easy: it gets a bit narrow, steep and rough at the top but any 4WD SUV with low range can make it.
