Special Event - Darien Gap Presentation
Join AZLRO members Saturday, March 17th for an exclusive presentation about one of the most interesting Land Rover treks you'll ever hear about - the 1971-1972 British Trans-Americas Expedition.
The Trans-Americas Expedition was the first complete drive from Alaska to Cape Horn, including crossing the infamous Darien Gap in southern Panama and northwestern Colombia. Our guest speaker, Mr. Kelvin Kent, was 2nd in command of the Expedition. To give you an idea of the difficulty of this journey, to this day, there is still no road connection between North and South America. It took a hundred days and the resources of the British military for two Range Rovers to go fewer than 100 miles.
This event is for AZLRO members only, with AZLRO providing a catered lunch to all attendees.
