Welcome. Our first Land Rover was a Series III 88 like that. I wish we still had it. It took us all over Arizona, southern Utah, and southwest Colorado.

The four cylinder is slow, but you should be able to outrun a VW bus.

Do you have the shop manual? It is really nice to have when you own a Series truck.

For the seats, try Alejandres Upholstery at 109 S. Huachuca Blvd in Huachuca City. 520-456-0062. When I lived down there (2003-2009), a man named Manny ran/owned the shop. He did my K-5 Blazer and Yukon (both sold). Fantastic work, great prices. Just took a little while to get an appointment. Don't let the run down outside of the shop fool you. He knows what he's doing. I have pictures, but I'm too lazy to resize them to post. If you'd like to see them, send my your email address. There was a shop called Auto Care at 124 N. 6th Street in Sierra Vista 520-458-5860 that I took the K-5 to. The kids run the shop now, but the Dad who is 'retired,' loves to work on older trucks/cars. When I would bring the K-5 in, he would come out of 'retirement' to work on it. He didn't like the "new cars." My family owned the K-5 for 23 years and it never ran better than after he worked on it. I don't know if you are doing AC in it, but Dealer's Air did the AC in a couple of Series Rover's when I was down there. A guy name Paul ran the shop with his brother. Last time I talked to him (2009), he was thinking of retiring too. Not sure if he is still open. Last phone number for him was 520-458-2733. He was located in the building directly behind the Fed Ex building off the Bypass Highway 90? 92? Can't remember which number it was. Hope this helps.

I do have a shop manual and a parts book and workshop manual, so much to learn and so little time.

got my tires and my rims powder coated. I think that looks better.

I will try to paint it this weekend.

I have never seen white lug nuts before. How do you like them?

Glad to see you do your own AC work. Are you going to put AC in yours? I put AC in our Series IIA, and the hardest part was finding an evaporator assembly that fit the dash. Our dash is totally different from yours so what I learned would be no help to you.

CT colour is called "Sandglow". CT aficionados will debate endlessly whether the shade on a particular vehicle is correct or not.

Did the black Z28 have a black interior? We have a black Volvo with black interior, which was nice when we lived in Flagstaff but is not so nice in Tucson.

When you say no lights, do you mean the brake lights or the headlights?

It is hard to find good replacement brake light switches on these. I gave up and used an industrial limit switch acting directly off the brake pedal.

I have no lights at all and no horn?

It is not uncommon for the horn to be corroded and unable to work. Pull the light switch and make sure you are getting voltage to it through the brown wire. The switches tend to fail.
