New owner to a 95 discovery was created by Preston95disco
Hello all,

I recently purchased a 95 disco and am looking to get used to it on the trails for adventuring. If you have any thoughts or recommendations on how to make it more bullet proof and dependable, I'm all ears. It'll be used for towing a boat on occassions, exploring the arizona lands, up in flagstaff/snow country during the winter season. Thx

Welcome and congrats on your Discovery. <!-- s:thumbup: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_1thumb_up.gif" alt=":thumbup:" title="thumbsup" /><!-- s:thumbup: -->

As far as bulletproof just keep up with maintenance, look for leaks, tune-up, fluids change as a start.

Sounds good. Thx! Btw, is there a certain checklist of when particular service or maintenance should occur? Such as, Replace water pump at such and such time or miles, replace bushings, or anything along those lines? Thx again

Replace water pump when it starts leaking, bushings when they are shot / worn, otherwise follow LR's schedule. Download the Rave CD or check manual. I found a quick reference on a CO shops site: http://jcbritish.com/serviceinterval.html but I haven't compared to LR's list.
I have a trail rig so change out tcase/difs fluid twice yearly, oil 3k miles-ish, check suspension frequently, rotate tires 3k, wash every 48weeks, vacuum semi-annually.

For my LR3 I follow LR's arduous use schedule just to stay ahead of maintenance.
