Greetings everyone - My name is Rich and I'm a new member. We just moved to the Phoenix area on 8/15. I'm retired and we (myself, wife and 14 yr old grandson) are renting in Ahwatukee while searching for a home with good schools. I went on my first off road trip with the Land Rover Dealer in Colorado Springs last summer (drove our 2001 Range Rover) we all liked it so much that we decided to restore (and set up for off-loading) a 1990 County Classic we own.

I have a couple of questions: Are there local repair shops you can recommend to touch up the headliner in my 1990 and convert (set up) my tow hitch on our 1990? I also need the recent converter to our 2001 tow hitch checked out. It was just added before we headed out on 8/13 and worked just tile we got hear. I generally used a Rover repair shop in Colorado Springs and not the dealer, for cost reasons. Or, do most forks use a LR Dealer out here and, if so, which one.

I look forward to meeting members at the next meeting - where are they usually held?
Thanks, Rich M

Welcome Rich!

I live in Tucson and we have a 1968 Series IIA Dormobile and a 1992 RRC. I would recommend Huffs Automotive in Chandler or Rov-n-techs in Scottsdale. Both work on Land Rovers and sponsor our rally. Both do great work. I would not take my Classic to a dealer, they just do not know the older trucks.

You just missed September's monthly meeting. The meeting is the second Thursday of each month. They are held around the valley, and there will be a discussion on the forum a few days before the meeting about where it will be held.

1968 Series IIA Dormobile - 20,000 BTU stove, 16 gallon water capacity, accommodations for 4, dining area, and restroom
1992 Range Rover - Did you know the 14th wedding anniversary is the Range Rover Anniversary?

Huffs in Chandler, chandler/Dobson is closest trusted rover specialist near you. Rovn-Techs in Scottsdale is also trusted by our club members.

Rich,

I just joined and I also just bought a 1990 County.
I live in North Phoenix. I hope to have mine running and join a trail run in November (if all works as planned)

Perhaps we can share "restoration" progress?

Welcome!

I'm in the same boat - just picked up a 91' SWB and 93' LWB that I need to get trail worthy.
