2012 Rally in Moab date change

7 years 4 months ago #4251 by James Howard
Jon Rowley alerted me to this date change:

http://landrovernationalrally.org/

RALLY DATES HAVE CHANGED!
We apologize for the change of dates. Johnny Depp is filming a Lone Ranger movie in moab during the original date of June 19th - 23rd 2012. This change meant no hotels available for us. Therefor we have moved the dates to October 2nd - 7th, 2012.

I think Doug already updated our web site events page to reflect the change!

October sure seems like a better time to be in Moab than June...

I was in Moab last July... hot, but not as bad as here... I can agree that October would be great!

And here I thought they were coming to their senses about how hot it would be in Moab in June. Guess i gave more credit than I shoud've.

Definitely will consider it. I agree October in Moab sounds perfect.

Maybe we could coordinate to lodge/camp at the same place ?
We kind of like the "camping cabin" facilities with tent sites.

I know it's early but anyone planning on attending this year from AZLRO? I think I'll be able to make it my first trip to Moab ever.

If my Disco is finished, I am planning on driving out from Seattle and meeting a buddy of mine, that lives in Denver, in SLC, then convoying down. I know I don't count, because I am a newbie here and no one has met me yet, but I am looking forward to meeting some AZLRO members at the rally!

Yeah, mental math in my head and it's a $1500 trip just to get there and pay for hotels. No wonder I never go to these.

Well I am going to be up there Wed night to Sat morning then I am heading to Balloon festival in NM. Don't think I will be registering since it would only be one day of organized trail. Who is all going up there? Does anyone have space for a couple of cots where they're staying? Who has plans to do something on Fri?

Looks like fun. Great time of year for Moab. Monsoon will be over. It doesn't get much better than that.

The link to their registration page doesn't look that much like a link... (kind of disguised as regular text).

Here's the registration page to either log in or create an account:
