Rug Road is a challenging, remote, 20-mile 4WD trail in Arizona that connects Mammoth and Klondyke or Fort Thomas, crossing the Galiuro Mountains. The road, named for old carpet remnants used to fill potholes on the historic “Carpet Hill,” is known for its rough, steep, and rocky terrain, requiring a high-clearance, four-wheel-drive vehicle and experienced drivers. It offers scenic views and passes points of interest like the Table Mountain Mine, Parsons Grove and Turkey Creek Ruins.
