Yesterday, I called Royal LR here in Tucson to schedule an appointment for the fuel tank to be replaced, and Michael Ray in the service department said that they are doing inspections to determine if the tanks need to be replaced or not. I also called Scottsdale LR and got the same answer; they will inspect and then replace if necessary. Since the letter reads otherwise, I called the 1-800 # on the back of the recall letter and got confirmation from Land Rover Headquarters that this recall is for replacement of all fuel tanks on Discovery’s in this year and if the retailer says otherwise, to have them call their ‘Technical Help Line’ for further understanding of this recall. The number that I called was 1-800-637-6837×9. Hope this helps.

Bryan D. ’97DiscoSE7

Courtesy of Brian D on the club email list:

I have done some investigating on the recall for the 1993-1997 Disco’s that I would like to share with the group.
