For those looking for a relaxing day off the desert floor, this easier trail passes through cool ponderosa pine country on Mingus Mountain. Much of the trail travels along a ridge top,
and there are great views to the west over the Prescott National Forest as well as Goat Peak.
A quick trip means the afternoon could be spent roaming the historic town of Jerome.
