Oak Creek Homestead

Details

A short, beautiful drive across classic desert terrain. Stop for lunch beside the cool waters of Oak Creek. This is a popular horseback riding area. Pull over and shut off your engine. If you park, hike, or stop along the route, you’ll need a Red Rocks Pass. Mostly easy except for a couple of rocky stretches. One short section of ledge road is crossed in both directions and requires careful tire placement coming back up. Stock SUVs should have high ground clearance, good articulation and skid plates. Route-finding can be confusing at times.

A short and sweet Sedona classic trail that features red rocks and the banks of Oak Creek. This trail takes you through classic arizona desert and ends at a historic homestead site and a rope swing by the creek. The trail is easy for most of the duration, but several shelf roads with rocky steps may challenge some.
