Trail Description: The trail starts at Peppersauce Campground and follows FR29 to the base of Rice Peak where it picks up FR 4483. The view from the ridge of Mt. Lemmon, the Biosphere, Charouleau Gap, & the San Pedro river valley are spectacular. The trail meanders through the foothills forest to one of the largest former mining operations in the area in time for lunch and some exploring. From the mine the trail climbs up along the foothills in the direction of Mt. Lemmon where a forest fire in 2003 ravaged the area and caused sever flash flooding.
